Waadiya Royal Treat: Indian & Sri Lankan Feast

Two cuisines. One table. Mains that keep coming.

Can’t decide between butter chicken and Jaffna fish curry? You don’t have to rush. The Waadiya Royal Treat is our signature set menu in Mount Waverley, with entrées to start, bottomless mains with rice and bread, and a traditional dessert to finish. It’s $64 per person with a minimum of 2 guests.

The Waadiya Royal Treat

How the Waadiya Royal Treat Works

The Royal Treat is made for people who love to eat well and don’t want to count plates. You choose one cuisine for your table, either Indian or Sri Lankan. We bring out the entrées first, then the mains, and the mains are bottomless, so you can go back to your favourite curry as often as you like. Dessert comes last.

Step 1: Pick your cuisine

Choose the Indian Royal Treat for creamy curries, tandoori flavours and fresh naan, or the Sri Lankan Royal Treat for bold spice, coconut and southern-island flavours. Everyone at the table shares the same menu.

Step 2: Start with entrées

Your feast opens with three starters to share, each one a good introduction to the cuisine you’ve chosen.

Step 3: Enjoy bottomless mains

This is the heart of the Royal Treat. Your mains come with rice and bread, and you can enjoy them as many times as you like.

Step 4: Finish with dessert

End on something sweet, with a choice of two traditional desserts.

The simple rules

  • $64 per person

Indian Royal Treat: Creamy, Smoky and Comforting

If you grew up on butter chicken, or you’re looking for a classic Indian night out, this is the menu for you. It’s rich, warm and made for sharing, with the smoky taste of the tandoor running through it.

Indian Entrees

Samosa

A golden, crisp pastry filled with spiced potatoes and peas. It’s a classic way to start any Indian meal, and a good one to dip in chutney.

Tandoori Chicken

Chicken marinated in yogurt and a blend of spices, then cooked in a clay tandoor oven. You’ll notice the red colour and the smoky flavour straight away.

Seek Kebab

Skewered spiced lamb mince in the style of Kakori, a town near Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. It’s tender, juicy and full of flavour.

Indian Bottomless Mains

Butter Chicken

Our butter chicken is a guest favourite. Tender tandoori chicken sits in a creamy, tomato-based sauce, rich and silky, with fluffy naan ready for dipping.

Lamb Rogan Josh

A classic dish from Kashmir, with tender pieces of lamb in a rich, aromatic gravy. It’s full of spice without being overwhelming.

Vege Korma

A mild, creamy curry of vegetables in a sauce of yogurt, cream, nuts and gentle spices. It’s a comforting option for vegetarians and anyone who prefers milder flavours.

Rice, Naan and Raita

Everything comes with fragrant rice, freshly baked naan and cooling raita, which balances the richer curries.

Indian Dessert

Kulfi or Gulab Jamun

Choose kulfi, a dense, creamy traditional Indian ice cream, or gulab jamun, soft milk dumplings soaked in sweet syrup. Both are a good way to end the meal.

Sri Lankan Royal Treat: Bold, Spicy and Coconut-Rich

Sri Lankan food isn’t as common on Melbourne menus as Indian, and that’s part of the fun. Expect roasted spices, curry leaves, coconut and tamarind, with a depth of flavour you won’t find at most restaurants. If you want to try something new, this is the menu to choose.

Sri Lankan Entrées

Pan Roll

A crisp, golden roll with a savoury filling. It’s a popular Sri Lankan snack, and it’s easy to eat while you chat.

Fish Cutlet

Mashed fish mixed with potato and spices, coated in breadcrumbs and deep-fried until crispy. It’s a favourite appetiser in Sri Lankan homes.

Hot Butter Calamari

Crispy squid tossed in a buttery sauce with green chilli and onions. It’s spicy, tasty and a great match for the curries to come.

Sri Lankan Bottomless Mains

Chicken, Lamb and Beef Curries

Tender meats cooked in Sri Lankan-style curries, using a blend of aromatic spices such as cumin, coriander, turmeric, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom, with coconut milk and curry leaves.

Black Pork

One of our most talked-about dishes. It’s called “black” because of the deep, dark colour of its gravy, which comes from a blend of spices and goraka (garcinia). It’s bold, tangy and full of character.

Jaffna Fish Curry

A northern Sri Lankan specialty. Fish is cooked with roasted curry powder, curry leaves, coconut cream and tamarind, for a curry that’s spicy, tangy and rich.

Your Choice of Two Sides

Pick two from cashew curry and eggplant. The cashew curry is creamy and slightly sweet, while the eggplant is soft, savoury and full of spice.

Rice and Egg Roti

Your mains are served with rice and egg roti, which is perfect for scooping up every last bit of sauce.

Sri Lankan Dessert

Watalappam or Kulfi

Watalappam is a traditional Sri Lankan custard made with coconut milk and jaggery, smooth and gently spiced. If you prefer something cooler, choose kulfi.
